The competition for the mantle of champions was rightly fought at The Hare & Billet tonight, but on a very low scoring evening, one team edged it... on the second attempt.

After 40 questions, we had a tie at the top. "MTSF" and Team Corned Beef were the only two teams to score in the 30s, deadlocked as they were on 33 points each, taking things to a tiebreaker.

In a rare turn of events, both teams put exactly the same answer, and so a second tiebreaker was necessary. On the second one, while both teams had a reasonable stab at the average number of sesame seeds atop a Big Mac bun, it was "MTSF" who were closer, and they took home a hard-won £50 bar tab first prize.

At the other end of the table, "Pub Club" scored a mere 14 points and still managed to come second-last (with The Irish Afghanis on a jaw-dropping 8 points), so their efforts won them a bottle of red wine.
