Textbook quizzing at The Fentiman Arms last night as The Judean People's Front won fought hard to win the bar tab, with fierce competition leaving you could barely get a Rizla paper between teams at the halfway stage (7 teams within one point of each other). Templeton (the rat from Charlotte's Web) got the better of everyone but the teams batted away questions on Hinduism, The Blues Brothers, aphids, and edamame beans. 'Racecar is racecar backwards' and 'The Melburries' had a tie-break face-off for the bottle of wine, with The Melburries producing a closer guess to my question on the number of billionaires in the UK in 2017 (134 - would you believe?). An enjoyable level of good-natured pedantry on the difference between the Soviet nationality and Russian and on whether Parmesan and Parmigiano are interchangeable. We take our fun seriously. I love that sort of stuff.
