A mad medley of questions hit teams at this week's Duchy Arms quiz but we learned that: palm oil is responsible for the demise of the orangutan; the 2-year old in Indonesia made famous for smoking is no longer smoking; and, the Corrs are still on people's radars. Earning the Smarties this week, with a runaway score on my points-per-person metric, "Stranger Than Fiction", delivered a superb performance, especially for just one person. "BCC" won the bottle of wine, having got the Jackson family word-play exactly right. "Parrt Of The Furnirture" were next, with very good Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball lyrics knowledge. Just ahead of them, "The Rookies" demonstrated a top-level celebrity identification capability - Warren Buffet and Mackenzie Crook.

Joint equal on the podium were "You'll Never Walk Malone" and "Quizlamic State", with the former getting 3-from-3 on the tube stations and the latter showing us a solid knowledge of Greek gods. In a tie-break for the £40 bar tab first prize, "Fake Quiz - Sad!" just edged out "Quizteam & The Queens" for the win, having got the closest guess to the time taken to walk between London and Bristol (38 hours - if you're asking). Majestic quizzing all round though.

"The Rookies" just missed out on the jackpot envelopes, which were wrestled with by "You'll Never Walk Malone". The jackpot went unwon, though, and a rollover takes next's week's pot to over £226. It's there. It just needs someone to win it! It could be yyyooouuuuu!!! #onlytheduchyarmshastheanswer
