A whopper of a quiz saw 14 teams learn: Red Skull is Captain America's arch-nemesis; Bangladesh is the modern name for East Pakistan; and, Kopi Luwak is a very expensive type of coffee. We also learned that it is not always the team with the most correct answers which wins the biggest prize...

At the end of it all, "French For Mushrooms" (who were superb on boy bands and tube stations) just missed out on a metaphorical medal. On the podium's bronze platform stood four teams: "Megxit Means Megxit", "You'll Never Walk Malone", "Hucklebum Tooting" and "Ambivalent Royalists" - all previous quiz winners, who might have seen victory again in any other week. Earning joint silver were "Tree Of Nigel" and "85G", who both got 3-from-3 on the Faithless - Insomnia lyrics question. Meanwhile, winning the £40 bar tab, even knowing Jeremy Corbyn is (allegedly) an Arsenal fan, was "Fake Quiz! Sad!".

For the jackpot, I asked teams what the world record is for the number of dominoes collapsed in a spiral. "Megxit Means Megxit" had the closest guess to the right answer of 55,555, giving themselves three magic envelopes, "The Opossums" were next, getting two, with "Quizzed Too Soon" getting one. In the end, one was all they needed and "Quizzed Too Soon" walked away with the dizzying £269 between the two of them. They may have been joint bottom in the quiz (although still a very respectable points-per-person score) but the cold. hard. cash. was theirs. Unbelievable scenes. They even gave their bottle of wine voucher to "Damp/Moist Jan", proving that chivalry is not dead. Not in quizzing circles anyway!

Jackpot is already at £66 for next week. So exciting. Shan't think I'll be sleeping between now and then. No release. No peace. I'll toss and turn without cease.
