On this day in 1953, Hillary and Norgay reached the summit of Everest. A bit of an unimaginative idea for a sculpture on my part I suppose, as there isn't a great deal of variety to be had on this subject. Still, it was won this week by the overall winners too, Gilbert, impressive as a team of two. Small crowd but big atmosphere. See you there next time. X
