You don'r have to be Prime Minister to meet with the Queen!

Marc F

Good evening, and another jackpot won with seven cards still left unturned. A team member from Karl Top Marx must have had an X-ray vision as he made his mind up very quickly before picking out the Queen hiding at the bottom. Despite it only having rolled over for one week, it was still a substantial £222 — not bad for rainy bonfire night in Balham.

As the fireworks went off, teams were probably wishing Guy Fawkes had been successful but thankfully the quiz gives everyone a break from politics to focus on a range of questions from pop culture to French cooking. And it was newcomers, The Nikita Agenda who just held out other teams who were hot on their heels. Topical team namers, Licence to quiz hung on for the wine and the three single doctors (one wasn't single and one was more of an engineer) were a little late and had to leave without a date but they did leave with a bronze medal which is no mean feat with the level of knowledge in the Devonshire tonight.

The jackpot starts again at £88 next week and the fun will undoubtedly continue for what is probably Balham's greatest quiz.
