The extension will increase the quiz's (jackpot) value by £50k

Okay, so it's unlikely to be that much but the Devonshire quiz got a makeover tonight as it extended for the first time into the back of the venue. A couple of eyebrows were raised but it did mean more than a couple of teams could play.

And play they did, with a record number taking part. It all added to the fun of two halves of the pub pitted against each other and it turned out all the knowledge action was towards the back. Coincidence, likely but the wine winners calling themselves the Devastators came closest to winning the jackpot with their Martian trivia. They didn't pick the Queen, despite the new series of the Crown starting on Netflix. It means with six cards still remaining, the jackpot already stands at a gargantuan £382. If it goes all the way to final cards, it could easily be over a grand. Stay tuned for more.
