The first quiz of 2016 was everything Balham both hoped for and needed: alcohol, 40 questions, and a prize for every single team, including a bottle of wine for a team of 11 that came last (or third, depending on how you look at it). That's a whopping 68ml each. Even losing is winning at the Devonshire. As for winning? The biggest prize - £50 cash - went conversely to the smallest team, Driving Home for Quizmas. No surprise when you find out that in the interval, two of their team competed to see to how many decimals they were able to express Pi. One of them got up to an impressive 23. And lost. Yup. When they come back, The Electric Dwight Yorkestra just might have some competition...
