Podobromhidrosis. I'd practiced saying this word out loud at least ten times before leaving the house. I wasn't going to be short of confidence in a room full of eager quizzers. No, sir-ee. Podobromhidrosis. There. Easy peasy. So when the question arose, your guess is as good as mine as to why it came out as a garbled dustbin of sounds as opposed to the chunky 6-syllable beauty I had so recently practiced.
