It only takes two to tango your way to victory

Marc F

They were good. And then they got even better. A team of two, who at their last attendance finished deep in mid table with more players, surged to a three-point win over a team of seven. Not even second placed Quiz On My Car's interpretative dancing on correct answers was enough to get in to The Lonely Two's heads and spoil their deserved win. The female half of the team also broke their pub quiz winning cherry, which is always a delightful moment to witness.

One thing The Lonely Two did spoil was a hat-trick victory for the team calling themselves Team Canada is the Fury this week. Despite increasing the volume of Canadians in their chapter, it wasn't quite enough as they cracked in the second half. Still, a podium place is still a podium place.

The rest of the teams sweated their way through a red hot night to compete well and Tooting Popular Front tried to make it two from two jackpot wins. Alas, they missed their daughter this week and after some deliberation, they failed to find the Queen. Eight cards remain, the jackpot grows — now at £176.

It's set to be cooler next week, so after you've had some time to rest and recover, I hope to see all your smiling faces ready to go head-to-head and take some big prizes next week.
