Crabby New Year!

First quiz of the year at The Crabtree saw a healthy turnout of 8 teams to shake off the holiday cobwebs and stick two fingers up to dry January! Riverside regulars "Northern Soul" were back in full familial effect, Kiwi couple the "Last Quiz Hurrah" were saying sayonara to the UK and heading home to Hobbiton and "MRC Free" were here en masse to challenge the title holders.
A fairly run-of the mill first half saw two teams neck and neck with "Simple Minds" trailing in fourth behind "Is January Over Yet?" But a strong 2nd half performance saw them surge into third place and "Urethra Plankton" held their nerve, despite a free drink, to take second place and the bottle of wine, after "MRC Free" were hampered by their numbers and docked two points.
Good night all round and "Northern Soul" did well to retain their crown after an exemplary performance by Jack, who single-handedly carried the team (apparently, so he said, according to Jack....)
