'Quiz In the Corner' Triumph Over Competition - But Leave Jackpot up for Grabs

Tonight's quiz at the Country House in Earlsfield started off with an immediate buzz. Punters noted it was a big turnout for the regular Tuesday night entertainment here. Perhaps it was the alluring jackpot that had rolled over to an impressive £130? Who knows...

While the first round proved to certainly be a thinker, the scores at the end were still close enough to keep the intensity high going into the second half. This round, full of anagrams, multiple-choice questions and logic problems, seemed to be more up the street of this evening's players.

The jackpot question was then won by 'Blue Tongue Quizard' and Neil stepped up to take on the 'Play Your Cards Right' challenge. Having been dealt a fairly lucky 10, things soon took a turn for the unfortunate. A tough 7 teased our player into opting for the next card to be 'higher' before a 6 was drawn, stopping him in his tracks and rolling over the even larger jackpot to next week!

Back to the main quiz results; in the end it was 'Quiz in the Corner' who nabbed the £50 bar tab prize - but only by three points! Congratulations to the winning team on their victory. Overall, I had a great night playing with the Country House.
