A debut quiz win is almost a welcome event at The Bohemia, and that is precisely what happened tonight: what made their victory all the more impressive was that they were only a two-person team.

First-timers Half Welsh, Half Zimbabwean performed to a level greater than the sum of their two parts, nudging the mighty Sockrobbers into second place by a point with a winning total of 33 points. For their heroic efforts, they took home their first of what could be many £50 golden bar ticket top prizes: half the team also nabbed a free drink question, so all in all, rich pickings for HWHZ.

At the opposite end of the table, American Idiots were tied with Roger The Lodging Ledge on a mere 18 points. After a quickfire tiebreaker, though, it was our beloved US regulars who won the bottle of wine for second last.
