We had a fantastic last ever quiz at The Black Lion this evening and it was super tight at the top after a very high scoring competition.
We revealed the final scores before the paper airplane competition and "Three Must Get Beers" were leading "The Bucket Residents" by a single point and then "Team C" were three points behind. However, "Team C" not only won a bonus point for best looking plane but also followed it up with the most accurate flyer too bagging them two more bonus points and tying them at the top...
It was all down to a closest to tie breaker question to decided tonight's champions and "The Three Must Get Beers" hit the nail on the head with their answer winning them the cash prize and bragging rights.
Finally we were down to the jackpot question and as one team had to win the cash, I asked another closest to question with all teams back in play. The two teams who had come closest to the correct answer faced off in play your cards right and it was "Error 404... Team Name Not Found" vs "The Bucket Residents" for a £278 cash prize. "Error 404" went first and only managed to call one card correctly leaving it down to "The Bucket Residents" to do one better. The two gents called the first correct and then the next leaving them walking away with huge grins and fat pockets. It's been a real pleasure hosting the quiz and we hope to find a replacement venue for you guys soon. We'll be in touch👍🏻😀
