Ready, Freddy, Go!

My first time and the Victoria, although it is a pub I've wanted to run a quiz at for a long time. It's local, small and friendly, nestled in a quiet corner from the M25. I was also drinking there just before Christmas, so nice to go somewhere I know. The welcome was still warm too, ably led by the manager, Adam. I feel a little guilty to be honest though. First I lulled them into a feeling of false security with a few easy questions, then slowly ramped the pressure on until we reached the cryptic clues to foreign currency - Sheep eating fish eggs being Ewe Roe (Euro) was the easy one! James was just on a date night with his lovely misses, but enjoys a cryptic clue, so became somewhat focused on the matter. I think it's romantic... But the winners this week were 'The Freddies'... named after their dog no doubt. So if you fancy a relaxed night out that still challenges a few grey cells, pop over the the Victoria next Wednesday. It'll be great to see you. Mark
