Ben Gets Lucky at Christmas!

Festivities were in full swing at the Plough in Dulwich, everybody looking forward to Christmas and also looking to claim the title of the last Question One Quiz winner of the decade! One question in particular was of local interest. The'Tiny Blonde' anagram, rearranged, spelt out the name of children's author 'Enid Blyton' who happened to grow up literally across the road to the Plough itself. The pub has a picture of Enid Blyton on the wall and our players enjoyed themselves under her watchful gaze. If literature was the order of the day, our teams were not poorer for it, many knowing that the 1881 Mark Twain novel was 'The Prince and the Pauper'. Finally, it was nice to raise a glass to the end of the year, our free drinks winner knowing that Britannica is commonly associated with the Encyclopaedia publication! 'No sex for Ben' scored a very respectable 40 points to take home the cash prize of £66.00 and 'Honey, I won the Quiz' won the wine with 23 1/2 points! Remarkably, 'Thirty, Flirty & Thriving' were the second team to win the Jackpot in as many weeks and were happy for their £20! Here's to next year and a lot more quizzing...
