Two weeks on the trot for "Onwards & Upwards"

And they did it by a clear 4 points this week without any velvet or being bendi (!?) - it's a play on their team names when they are not playing with their neighbours and no, I cannot explain it and am not prepared to use my imagination on a public forum! In winning they were of course deserved recipients of the £40 bar voucher first prize. The outcome of the £20 bar voucher second prize was a close run thing. Needless to say "Chalfont Ladies" were involved as were "Aussies Abroad" and only 1 point separated them with the former, dare I say, of course prevailing. Interestingly, having analysed their respective answer sheets, if they had teamed up together, they would actually have had quite a competitive score! Perhaps next week. The family of Amy - a member of the Jolly Farmer team - were participating this evening for the first time under the guise of "Amy's Angels". Some interesting facts about Amy's family being that one of her brothers is a NASA nuclear scientist and her mother apparently prefers 'top down' whereas Amy says she is more 'bottom up' ….. when announcing the scores that is before anybody gets the wrong idea! I digress. Anyway they won the opportunity to select from the remaining Jackpot envelopes for the £63 cash prize. Amy's mum selected envelope number 6 which I noted from a distance offered a 'congratulations', but only on winning a bowl of nuts on this occasion. The Jackpot cash prize therefore increases to £85.50 and rolls over to next week's quiz on Tuesday 5th November when we do it all again.
