It was practically a walk over at The Hare and Billet this evening. Even with a pub packed to the rafters (59 players in 16 teams), the scoring mostly across the board was relatively low for these parts, and only one team managed to take advantage of that ruthlessly. The winners tonight were loyal regulars Pointless Rejects, who proved to not live up to their team name in any way, taking the £50 bar tab first prize with an excellent 36 points. In a stunning display, they absolutely thumped the rest of the field, with recent multiple winners The Chris Palmer Trio and Born Again Quiztians sharing second place a full SEVEN points behind on 29 points apiece, and The Dog Bus were next closest on 28. The fight for second last place and the consolation prize of a voucher for a bottle of wine is normally a low-score affair, but tonight was particularly so, as The Right Coast, scooped that prize with a mere 15 points, one point above rock bottom.
