Quizmas spirit builds before last test of the decade

You can tell it's Quizmas with all the festive names being conjured up for the first time or regurgitated for another year. And the pub was in high spirits in a testy affair at the Devonshire. We needed both halves of the venue again and will likely need both again next week as we look forward to the last quiz of the year, AND the decade. There's no time to look back over all the good times of the last 12 months — I'd be here all night — or nearly ten years of Tory rule — too few to mention — but what I can say is that I love this time of year for all the smiling faces and friendly get-togethers that the drinking establishments of this country encourage. No one really cares about how well they do, unless you're Monkey Tennis — and they weren't even that bothered — it's about coming together, having a laugh over each other's lack of general knowledge and saying cheers to life and happiness. It'll be even better next week as we toast the year and the decade that will end and look forward to a bright new future — and a £274 jackpot — of Devonshire quizzes. Booking ahead is advisable. See you then!
