High scoring knowledgable affair at the Dev

It was pancake day at the Dev, and with the quiz firmly on everyone's minds, no one seemed to order any. Obviously, no wanted a flat performance (see what I did there?). The quiz flipped into action and no team was crepe tonight — everyone was shroving for gold.

There was so much to play for with no less than five previous winners in attendance with 'We only came for the free beer' hot off their victory last week.

But we crowned a new winning team a very high-scoring quiz, despite many teams commenting on how hard it was. To be fair, if it was hard, it demonstrated the quality on show tonight with the majority of teams scoring over 30 points. That, or the fact I gave out lots of bonus points this evening which aided in focusing the minds of the quizzers this evening.

Players were pretty clued up on Australian animals and how far they could jump as well with a three or four teams getting close on the jackpot question. It was last week's winners who came closest, though but they were unable to continue their good fortune, leaving the Queen on the board with four cards now remaining. The jackpot has now reached its maximum of £500 and that will be on the line for everyone next week.
