Valentine's Victory for the not-so-Stupid 'Cupid Stunts'

As the Beatles once sang 'All you need is love (and also pub quizzes)'. And what a quiz it was this week at Beer Hawk! Lovely Amy and co were back representing A MAN FROM CHESHIRE, and despite being utterly delightful in that corner booth, they just missed out on the coveted second-to-last place bottle of wine to brand new team, TEAM HAWKWARD. Well done to Ellie and friends on on winning the much-lusted-after wine on your first Beer Hawk quiz! YAY BOOZE! Next up we had Simon and Matthew and Simon in team 'S AND M AND S' - thank you for keeping me so entertained on the sidelines, I very much appreciate your presence at this quiz and I hope you keep coming back so you can just miss out on the booze for a third time running. Now, sometimes quizzing is a family affair and next up, we had the wonderful Jenkin's family who made up team 'EXQUIZITE'. Janet, Martin, Tami, Max and Elena - I'd love to come around for Sunday lunch. Mid-table, we had Anton and pals, who this week were named the SUPER SPREADERS (if I could give bonus points for names . . . ). Thank you for being brilliant and spreading such joy around Beer Hawk. In joint third, we had new team HS-POO UNSTOOLED, who provided the quiz with some much-needed ambient wailing noises, and quiz favourite's TEAM INEBRIATED, who were wonderful as ever. Dave, Kristian, Kate, Mark and James - I adore you. In silver medal position, we have Dave, Kendra, Freddy and Adam of SPITBALLIN 4 TOMASSO'S FEAR OF COOKING ALONE, who ended the night on a spine-tingling 44 points. WOAH. Dave and Kendra, you are titans of quizzing and titans of life and I love you. But in first place with a whopping 47 points (after a two point deduction for having 8 members in their team) were the fabulous CUPID STUNTS! Wowzers! Liam, Sam, Mark, Dorothy, Eyette, Mike, Tom and Jack - congratulations on winning the £50 bar tab, you played an excellent game. And thanks for helping me out with the US States (and Dorothy, thanks for helping me out with the hints - what would I have done without you?!). I can't wait to come to Boston and visit Eyette and Mike so we can celebrate in style with donuts and coffee.
