The Gooners go 3 up to gain top spot!

A crisp and chilly evening in Arnos Grove was not enough to dissuade our dedicated contestants from the best fun you can have on a Monday night, the Quiz at the Arnos Arms! If it was cold outside, our quiz certainly had a Scandinavian feel to it, our teams knowing that Norse God Thor's hammer was called Mjolnir- with many variations on the spelling of course! Our teams knew that the word for an official who investigates complaints against companies and organisations was 'Ombudsman' but they may not have known that it is borrowed from the Swedish language! Finally, if everyone was feeling a bit homesick, they could travel across the North Sea to Scotland and have a bowl of Cullen Skink, which is, of course, the soup made from smoked haddock, potatoes and onions! The Gooners 0 (Liverpool 1) bagged the £50 bar tab with 39 points (3 points above second place) and newbies Litty Committie (It's Lit!) nabbed the wine with a respectable 31.5 points! It's always a pleasure at the Arnos Arms and we hope to see everyone next week...
